Danish Refugee Council

Danish refugee council
The Danish Refugee Council is a leading, international humanitarian displacement organisation,
supporting refugees and internally displaced persons during displacement, in exile, when settling
and integrating in a new place or upon return. We provide protection and life-saving humanitarian
assistance. We support displaced persons in becoming self-reliant and included into hosting
societies - and we work with communities, civil society and responsible authorities to promote
protection of rights and peaceful coexistence. Founded in Denmark in 1956, 9,000 staff, 7,500
volunteers.

At our stand

You will find two photos documentaries:

Voices from Ituri

The exhibition will illustrate the gravity of the humanitarian situation in Ituri province, one of the most affected provinces in DR Congo with high numbers of displacement and increasing presence of armed actors, impacting the protection of civilians. The exhibition will also demonstrate DRC's response through positive human stories, highlighting human resilience of the affected populations. The photos will also be a call for action to find political and economic solutions, as well as support for a stronger humanitarian response.

Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA) response in Afghanistan

The photo exhibit will shed light on the urgency to maintain Humanitarian Mine Action (HMA) programming to answer the needs of the most vulnerable in Afghanistan, a country with one of the highest levels of explosive ordnance contamination in the world, with the legacy of years of conflict requiring immediate response. The exhibition will portray DRC’s activities designed to address acute life-threatening risks from Explosive Ordnance contamination and to distribute cash for work. These activities are mainly funded by ECHO.
