The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is an independent humanitarian organization helping people forced to flee.

NRC started their relief efforts after World War Two, and today, works -both in new and protracted crises- in over 40 countries.

By specializing in six areas: food security, education, shelter, legal assistance, camp management, and water, sanitation and hygiene, NRC protects and supports displaced people as they build a new future.</p

Out of Sight, Out of Mind? Turning the Spotlight on Neglected Crises

At our stand, visitors to the EHF will be able to escape from the Brussels’ bubble and are brought closer to the reality of millions of people in neglected crises. NRC will set up a “Neglected Crises Corner” which brings pictures and testimonies from three neglected crises which don’t reach the headlines today: Central African Republic (CAR), Sudan, Yemen.

Aside from a telling photo exhibition of the life in DRC, CAR, Sudan and Yemen, visitors can carry out a virtual visit to a hard-to-reach area in the Central African Republic, the ongoing refugee crisis in Sudan and the silent suffering of people in Yemen, using virtual reality googles. By putting a spotlight on these neglected crises, NRC aims to bring a human face and story to neglected crises in order to trigger increased political will and engagement by the international community.
