United Nations

One of the purposes of the United Nations, as stated in its Charter, is "to achieve international co-operation in solving international problems of an economic, social, cultural, or humanitarian character." The UN is relied upon by the international community to coordinate humanitarian relief of emergencies due to natural and man-made disasters in areas beyond the relief capacity of national authorities alone.

We work closely with our partners like the European Union and its Member States to support the most vulnerable around the world, tackle the roots of crises and build resilience for a better future.

Our Stand and Exhibition

The UN Stand brings together all key UN entities working around the world to deliver humanitarian aid to the most vulnerable, support basic needs, advance human rights and tackle the key drivers of crisis. We are looking forward to meeting other participants, discussing our cooperation with the EU, its Member States and other key actors, and exploring new avenues for partnership.

You will also find a photo exhibition bringing together pictures highlighting the diverse facets and rich humanity of the work that the United Nations and European Union do to support the most vulnerable, with a special focus on two pressing issues: climate and gender equality. It includes 24 photos from the work of IOM, OHCHR, UN Women, UNFPA, UNOPS, UNRWA, WFP, WHO.
