This session will provide a holistic, evidence-based picture of current humanitarian trends and conditions after one year of conflict in Ukraine, whilst also providing perspectives and reflections from strategic actors on how data and analysis is used in decision-making. Specifically, the discussion will aim to answer:

1. What are the key humanitarian trends that response actors must consider? Specifically with regards to:

a. Multi-sectoral needs and the key drivers of vulnerabilities

b. Affected peoples’ perceptions of aid actors and response interventions

c. Impacts of the winter season following damage to utilities and infrastructure

d. Damage to services and logistics infrastructure and hazards risk, one year on

2. How do donors and strategic actors engage with humanitarian information and integrate data into their decision-making processes? What are the key learnings and recommendations from their experiences? Participants will come away with a nuanced, data-driven understanding of the current humanitarian needs and conditions inside Ukraine, as well as learnings and recommendations on how evidence-based response planning and resource prioritisation can be conducted in a complex crisis setting.
