Dr Erica Moret is a specialist on sanctions, global security and humanitarian affairs. She is Senior Researcher at the Geneva Graduate Institute (Geneva Centre for Humanitarian Studies) and coordinates the Geneva International Sanctions Network (GISN) and the Sanctions and Sustainable Peace Hub. She is also Policy Director at the Swiss Centre for Policy Engagement, Polisync and serves as an independent expert to the UN, EU, Swiss government and humanitarian organisations. She has a PhD (DPhil) from the University of Oxford and has provided advice and evidence on sanctions-related matters to the Biden Administration, US Congress, Canadian Senate, and Global Affairs Canada, European Parliament and both UK Houses of Parliament. She coordinates multi-stakeholder dialogues on behalf of the EU and Swiss governments on technical solutions relating to financial sector derisking, private sector overcompliance and challenges faced in humanitarian and migrant remittances.
